Joanne (Bechdel) Saar

     Joanne “Judy” (Bechdel) Saar, widow of William E. Saar, Sr., of 22 Cree Drive, Lock Haven, PA passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Lock Haven Rehabilitation and Senior Living, Lock Haven, PA.

     Born in Lock Haven, PA on February 1, 1946 she was the daughter of the late Leland, Sr. and Faye (Confer) Bechdel.

     Joanne was a member of the Pine Creek Valley Christian Church, Jersey Shore, PA.

     She was formerly employed by several local companies over the years including Woolrich, The West Co., Truck-Lite and Shop-Vac.

     Judy enjoyed shopping with her sisters and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She also loved to travel and took many vacations with her family and friends.

     She is survived by two sons, Mike Saar (Tracy) of Lock Haven, PA and Robert Saar (Deb) of Jersey Shore a brother, Leland Bechdel, Jr. (Amy) of Beech Creek, two sisters Viola Clukey of Beech Creek and Becky Lavelle (Larry) of Beech Creek, a daughter in law, Linda Saar Baker of Jersey Shore, 7 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren along with one on the way.

     In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a son William E. Saar, Jr. and a sister Virginia Hummel.

     The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pine Creek Valley Christian Church, 26 Locomo Lane, Jersey Shore, PA (17740) with Rev. Ron Savits officiating.  A viewing will be held in the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of the service.  If desired memorials may be made in Joanne’s name to her church.  Private Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Jersey Shore Cemetery, Jersey Shore, PA.
